AIR-GAPPED SECURE

No Wi-Fi. No Cameras.

Most 3D printers are designed to connect — to Wi-Fi, to the cloud, to an app on your phone. For a defense contractor, government lab, or military maintenance shop, that's exactly the wrong feature set. UltiMaker built the Secure Line specifically to solve for that: the S6 Secure and S8 Secure strip out every unnecessary connection point while keeping the same speed, accuracy, and open-material ecosystem that make the standard S6 and S8 two of the most trusted printers in professional 3D printing.

UltiMaker Secure is designed for military applications from the ground up. It's already in use with the Royal Netherlands Navy, the Royal Netherlands Air Force, the US Army, and institutions like West Point and Naval Station Norfolk — producing everything from antenna brackets and GPS mounts to load-bearing composite parts strong enough to help lift a 12-tonne armored vehicle. This isn't a modified consumer printer; it's purpose-built for mission-critical environments where security and reliability aren't optional.

Why Defense Teams Choose UltiMaker Secure

Three things set the Secure Line apart from a standard professional 3D printer, and all three matter more the higher the stakes of your operating environment get.

Feature Why It Matters
Air-Gapped Operation No Wi-Fi, no camera, no unverified devices. USB-only workflows ensures your data never leaves the room.
TAA Compliant, GSA Ready Designed and manufactured in the Netherlands (EU), meeting strict EU and US regulations including export compliance and GDPR — ready for government acquisition and preferred-vendor purchasing.
Third-Party Tested & Certified Independently verified rather than self-certified, giving procurement officers a documented, verifiable supply chain and confirmed data integrity.

Also included: the Cheetah Motion Planner, dual high-flow print cores, a hardened feeder system inherited from the Factor 4, an EPA filter rated to remove up to 95% of ultrafine particles, and a 12/24-month standard warranty with extensions available up to 5 years. None of the security hardening comes at the cost of print performance.

Proven in Real Military Applications

UltiMaker Secure isn't a theoretical solution — it's already producing parts for active defense operations:

  • Shipboard spare parts. The Royal Netherlands Navy produces components on-demand directly aboard ships, cutting wait times and reducing the need to carry large spare-parts inventories to remote locations.
  • Load-bearing composite parts. Working with Covestro, UltiMaker helped the Royal Netherlands Navy design a 2-kilogram carbon fiber composite link strong enough to lift a 12-tonne armored vehicle.
  • Field-ready brackets and fixtures. Antenna mounts for high-speed interference boats, GPS and radio brackets for vehicles, and camera brackets for the Fennek are all in active use.
  • In-house maintenance tooling. The Royal Netherlands Air Force integrated UltiMaker printers into maintenance workshops to produce custom tools and fixtures in-house, in hours instead of weeks.

“We can create tools that fit specific applications affordably.” — Bas Janssen, Royal Netherlands Air Force
